Sid Valley HELP launched last month to support the parishes’ residents in times of illness, loneliness or facing life changing circumstances.

The charity approached the school, asking pupils to come up with ideas for a logo and received an impressive 65 entries.

The group’s steering committee shortlisted 12 designs and asked the public to vote on their favourite during the recent community wellbeing fete.

Year eight pupil George Chapman’s logo was named the winner with fellow students Rio Bourne, George Manley and Georgie McNally coming in second and joint third respectively.

All of the pupils received vouchers donated by South West Arts Material.

Di Fuller, chairman of Sid Valley HELP, told the students: “It is a really, really great thing you did and we would like to add our thanks to everyone that took part, it was a really good selection.”

She added the group was looking for help to convert George’s winning design into a graphic to use on its website and printing.
